With so much going on around us, I decided to use a single post to gather my thoughts.
First, the elephant in the room is the collapse of the American empire in Afghanistan. This was always going to happen, as any reading of history would have shown. Losing a war means retreat, always in chaos.
Biden and his administration can be criticized for the tactical issues surrounding the end of mission (e.g., the abandonment of Bagram Air Base before the evacuation was even begun and the chaos in Kabul), but he was stuck with a treaty Trump signed that required withdrawal in May (which is part of the Taliban’s fighting season, rather than having it in October when everyone goes home for winter) and where the US received nothing as part of the deal.
But beyond that, the attack on Biden is a way for the national security establishment (i.e., the three previous presidential administrations, Congress, US national security and intelligence agencies, media and their former flag-level “commentators”, defense contractors, and the DC Beltway think thanks) to avoid taking any responsibility for their failures or having it assigned to them. Count on none of them facing any civil or criminal penalties, public censure, or any harm to their careers.
Can we finally agree that all the elites are corrupt and cynical no matter their political affiliation, and none of them have any interest in our welfare? More on that question below.
I see the US embassy was abandoned as part of the end of mission. This is where they flew the Gay Pride flag in June – a Muslim country, with the Taliban advancing on the central government. Who thinks up this stuff?
I wonder if the Taliban will raise the Gay Pride flag once again after they come to the realization they suffer from toxic masculinity.
I have nothing against gays or anyone else – everyone has a right to live their lives the best way possible as long as they don’t interfere with anyone else. But isn’t it time to move beyond having gay pride month every year? Or for that matter, isn’t it time to move beyond all the “X month” celebrations, separate graduations, and emphasis on group rights?
The US Constitution articulates individual rights and protections – not group rights. So-called group rights inevitably leads to sectarianism and tribalism. Look around the planet and see how well that works out.
Yes, people, who have been oppressed on the color of their skin, their racial or sexual identity or other factors, still suffer; and those issues must be addressed. But promoting ideologies that put one’s group identity over everything else is going to bring this country to a very bad place.
It’s one of my problems with the 1619 Project. Apart from the seemingly poor scholarship – particularly concerning the era of the country’s founding, its thesis is that structural racism is the central core and only reality of the American experience. But, think about life now, versus life in 1955, versus life in 1853 and say nothing has improved for black people – or for most other minorities or oppressed groups?
People whose ancestors came to America – as my grandparents did – looking for a better life, are also part of the American experience – as are the many generations of Americans who have lived their lives, trying to be good parents, citizens, and neighbors. We are an imperfect union and we all should try to do our best to make it better; and that includes working to correct both structural and individual racist pasts.
But claiming a single narrative defines everything that is America is dangerous and naive.
As are The Woke and Cancel Culture.
Say one thing wrong in your life – no matter when and no matter what – and you will be banished and shunned forever. I look for the adult male, who pulled a girl’s ponytail when he was a little boy in kindergarten, being denied a seat on the Supreme Court or hosting a television show. What ever happened to personal growth, making a mistake in one’s past, and apologizing for it?
It’s time to tell the young elitists to grow up and get a thicker skin – spend any time in the adult world and realize “micro-aggressions” are part of daily life and there are no safe spaces. This kind of thinking leads to stupidity and self-defeating results.
Patagonia has announced it will no longer sell its clothing and gear at the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, because the resort’s co-owner hosted a Republican fund-raiser with Marjorie Taylor Greene. So Patagonia took a minor Republican politician – previously only a villain on MSNBC – and gave her national exposure that will make her more of a hero to the Republican right-wing. Again, who thinks up dumb stuff like this?

And finally The Virus of Unknown Origin (thanks to The Critical Drinker for that one).
First, I got my two shots of the Moderna vaccine in January/February of 2021. No side effects except for a bit of arm soreness.
But now I see the elites want me, and everyone else, to get a booster due to the Delta variant.
A question or two pops into mind. How many more boosters will have been mandated by the time we get to the Phi, Chi, Psi, or Omega variants? And what will they name variants once they run out of the Greek alphabet?
More seriously, how do we know the basic mRNA technology is safe?
Note, I’m not speaking of the shouting about a Bill Gates developed vaccine with remote control nano-particles, or other politically driven fantasies.
But there are significant numbers of physicians, virologists and other scientists who, if you can find them past the censorship wall put up by Big Tech, are writing serious peer-reviewed articles questioning the immediate and long-term side effects of the spike protein that lies at the heart of the vaccine’s behavior.
Why haven’t those concerns and issues been surfaced?
Where are the reported animal studies done on the mRNA vaccines?
Why should we accept that an experimental vaccine is safe when every other drug brought to market by big pharma has a lengthy list of side effects, and practically is always followed years later by class-action lawsuits?
Why should we trust in a non-sterilizing vaccine that attacks only a single protein and allows the virus to mutate – increasing the evolutionary pressure to find a breakthrough?
Why should we trust anything Anthony Fauci says when he is a self-admitted liar – even if the lies can be claimed to be Noble Lies? Why is a man to be trusted who has spent his life only promoting vaccines he approves? Read his history on AIDS and AZT to see how honorable and trustworthy he is.
And why aren’t there ongoing investigations and studies into claims made about therapeutic treatments, among them hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin, both of which some hospital doctors have used to save people’s lives?
The last question is easily answered. If they had been proven effective in a clinical setting the FDA would not have been able to continue emergency use authorization for the experimental mRNA vaccines.
I don’t know the answers to many of the above questions. But I know I feel as if I’m hearing lies.
Remember, the elites are behind the mass vaccinations, the coming “mandated” booster shots and passports, and God knows what else. These are the same people who have worked only for their own interests through all time. To be blunt, George Carlin was spot on when he said they don’t give a fuck about you (link).
The mess they made in Afghanistan is now easy to see. When and under what circumstance will their failures and possibly criminal decisions be finally revealed on COVID-19?
