MAFA II

(Note – after publishing, I realized MAFA was too long as one post)

So back to the title.

MAFA – Making Americans Frogs Again.

Why frogs?

Frogs, as in the old saying – how do you boil a frog?

It starts with immersion of the frog in lukewarm water, with the temperature slowly increased, with the frog unaware of the increasing danger.

Look around.

Are the American people really more than frogs slowly being boiled?

There is a simultaneous downward trend in many aspects of American life. Much of it feels as if we’re being tested in an experiment to see what we’ll put up with.

So, it sure looks like the frog analogy is correct.

Because “Israel has a right to self-defense”, genocide is said to be a legitimate strategy by most politicians and the Mainstream Media (MSM).

Can Americans be content with genocide in their name?

The water has begun to warm.

Trump has acted and sees himself as the ‘very stable’ genius ruler he believes he is.

He is a modern incarnation of Louis XIV of France (“I am the state.”)

Violations of the law for personal enrichment of family and friends; ignoring Constitutional limits abetted by a corrupt compromised Congress or Supreme Court decisions based more on philosophy that clear legal precedent.

Tariffs that are personal whim more than industrial policy.

Cuts to government employees and services.

The water has begun to simmer.

It is increasingly evident that Donald Trump was compromised by whatever exists, or had existed, in the Epstein files.

That Trump has included in a number of places in whatever still exists of the ‘Epstein files’ is almost without question.

But the Epstein issue isn’t just about him – it’s about the intelligence ‘honey pot’ operation that existed, and may still exist, conducted by intelligence agencies (including I believe, CIA and Mossad).

The revelations of the scope of the operation; who was compromised and the effects on U.S. foreign policy – will never be allowed to see the light of day. All steps will be taken to ensure that never happens.

So, the administration has launched a counterattack, dropping documents that suggest criminal action by Barack Obama and others in his administration.

I’m not suggesting some of the claims may not be valid – it’s too early to judge whether some of it was hardball politics or criminal actions – only that a document drop now appears only to be a distraction and opportunities for partisanship.

Partisan warfare appears in the offing that may make “Russia, Russia, Russia” look mild in comparison

MAGA was predicated on getting to the truth of the Epstein affair – even though it should be clear that can never be allowed to happen.

Then Trump sued the Wall Street Journal for libel for an article that discussed his role in an Epstein birthday. And the MAGA influencers cheer – apparently going after the MSM is still more important than finding out the realities of a child sex abuse network.

It’s important to note that support for Trump’s lawsuit against the Wall Street Journal is primarily supported by the MAGA ‘influencers’ – who like politicians, have a platform that can be purchased by the highest bidder (see MIGA above); another reason the organizing principle of MAGA is a scam.

The response of the public in all demographic groups is more muddled and changing.

The water is rapidly simmering.

ICE has been funded to add 10,000 agents. There are fears it could become the national paramilitary police, subject to only Presidential direction. They detain people, who are sent to places unknown; how long before they take similar action against ‘enemies of the state’ (including U.S. citizens)?

And Trump had ordered the U.S. Marines to Los Angeles to ‘enforce’ the law and provide security against the “illegals”; threats of similar deployments to other ‘blue’ cities have been made.

The experiment continues in terms of how much American citizens – in the ‘land of the free and home of the brave’  – are willing to put up with a heavily-armed miliary presence in their daily lives.

The water is now beginning to boil.

Many hope that the 2026 midterms will see a Democratic Majority in both the House and Senate. It seems reasonable that such an inevitability might occur, even for the dunces in control of the Democratic Party.

The last two years of Trump’s presidency would then be a replay of the first Trump term – with impeachment inquiries; impeachment proceedings; trial in the Senate – and further partisan strife, including more violence.

And there’s something else.  Gerald Celente, publisher of the Trends Journal, has often said “when all else fails, they take you to war.”

War with China, nominally over Taiwan, is still forecast by many in civilian and military leadership by 2027.

At what point does the water begin to rapidly boil – the point of no return for the American frogs?

If we survive Trump’s reign through January 2029 (at the latest), there will be another person in the Oval Office.

But the damage done by Donald Trump, and the oligarchs over the last 25 years (recall Trump was elected as a response to the increasing destruction of the economy by neoliberal capitalism) may be irreparable.

To cite only a few examples.

U.S. foreign policy and its use of the U.S. dollar to enforce its ‘rules-based world order’ (based only on U.S. rules) is despised by most countries.

Multi-polarity is on the rise and countries have begun to, and will, reduce their holdings of U.S. Treasuries that funds the U.S. debt. Even without Trump, this will continue – and hyperinflation or economic collapse is in the future.

The ‘petrodollar’ (oil priced in USD and its use for most global trading) will continue for many years, but the use of other currencies for trade will increase. Costs of imports will increase due to both currency issues and a tariff environment that will be muddled.

Academic freedom has been destroyed – and anti-intellectualism is now celebrated.

College and universities, increasingly dependent on wealthy benefactors, and often managed by corporatists rather than scholars, toe the line and punish faculty and expel students who express differing views.

Foreign students, and visiting faculty, would often add insights into academic pursuits that benefited the U.S. will stop coming out of fear of imprisonment by CPB or ICE.  They will go elsewhere.

Already this year, and certainly more next year, foreign tourism will drop dramatically – directly impacting the many businesses that rely on those dollars.

And loss of foreign tourism means less people to people contact, which benefits the cause of peace.

One final point. Oswald Spengler wrote in the early 20th century that the West would reach its peak by the end of the (20th) century and would then face a time of ‘Caesarism’ in 2022. Then follows an imperial age, with “torrents of blood” and wars between Ceasars.

Perhaps the water was already rapidly boiling before Trump rode the escalator down in 2016.

MAFA.
