The Narrows Park is beautiful no doubt, and something about your writing hits home. I’ve read about your time at OCS, and the incident when you fell into the Narrows Strait current.
The story about the red crab attack also made me laugh.
I’m 33 years old, born and raised in Tacoma. My family members for long time lived in Port Orchard area, and my grandfather is buried by Naval Base Kitsap.
When my grandfather died, I left his funeral and drove to Tacoma Narrows Park before going home. That was in 2012. Our family is from Korea, he lived through the Japanese occupation and the Korean War.
There are some great videos and photos I have of the Narrows Park, I’d like to share them but I cannot on this platform.
Anyways, though I know nothing of fly fishing, I enjoy your wisdom.
The land and sea of the Narrows will be here, for much longer than any of us mortals, and the strong current of the sound, will keep going after our last breathe.
By luck I’ve stumbled upon your work.

Cheers to that.
